In Ray Bradbury’s short story "A Sound of Thunder", a time travel expedition goes terribly wrong, illustrating the dangers of disrupting the natural order of history. Set in a future where technology allows people to travel back in time, the story follows Eckels, a hunter who joins a guided safari to the prehistoric past to hunt a Dinosaur. Despite strict rules meant to prevent any changes to the timeline, Eckels panics and steps off the designated path, unknowingly crushing a butterfly. Upon returning to the present, he finds a subtly but disturbingly altered world, demonstrating the "butterfly effect"—the idea that small actions can have far-reaching consequences. Bradbury uses suspense and vivid imagery to explore themes of responsibility, the unpredictability of time, and the fragility of human progress.

We can make the argument that "A Sound of Thunder" is a fictional representation of a Philosophical theory "The Butterfly Effect".
